Rodney Laney / New Jersey, USA
My name is Rodney Laney and I started this meditation at the Teaneck Center then moved to the Lyndhurst Center.
Even though I was living my dream of traveling the world, making people laugh with my stand up comedy, there still was something missing. Meditation was something I always wanted to try, but I didn’t know where to start. I came across this meditation from a pamphlet and something in it spoke to me.
Before meditation I’ve been described as easy going and happy go-lucky. And for the most part it was an accurate description, according to the idea I had of myself. But after just a few hours of meditation the life as I knew it began to transform. The world became crisper, more warm and vivid. I could not take my eyes of the clouds; it was as if I had never seen them before. I started to appreciate everything and everyone, and it even helped my career because I was no longer in it for myself but truly for the people.
I have always been the introspective type, but the profundity of this new introspection was amazing. Slowly my mental construct of the world started to disappear. And this all was afforded to me by the method this meditation employs – subtraction.
The method is simple and the helpers are… hmm…what’s the word? Universe-minded. They’ve totally dedicated their lives to helping us. I like to think of them as my personal trainers for the spirit. They stay late or come early as needed; they truly give their all, for our support.
They’ve been there tirelessly to help me throw away my false mind. The more I threw away my false mind, the more truth was revealed. And it’s negation of All The FALSE that leads to a place where words lose their capacity to communicate. You have to experience it for yourself.
It is truly mind blowing.
